Rating and reviewing some Wondery+ Kids shows

Yo wassup, party people?

Today I'm gonna be rating and reviewing some of the Wondery+ shows I've listened to. Wondery+ Kids is a subscription on apple podcasts and also some other places, but I use Apple Podcasts mostly. I've listened to a few of their shows and I'm going to rate them.

First up is Wow In The World. I used to love this one when I was little. It's a fun science podcast, and I don't really listen to it anymore because, umm, I'm 13, and a little old for little kids shows, but I'd still give it a 5-star rating because it's awesome, even though I've sort of grown out of it

So

Rating: 5 stars

Next, Stories Podcast.

Again, awesome podcast, even though I've kinda sorta grown out of it.

Rating: 5 stars

Now onto some of the ones I listen to now (Or recently)

The Big Fib (Formerly Pants On Fire)

Ooh my gosh I love this podcast! Even now!!!!!!! I honestly find it pretty easy to spot the lie, but that's probably because I'm much older than most of the kids who get featured on there. Basically you get a theme, then two people who claim to be experts answer questions about that topic, and the kid has to guess who's pretending. It's also funny, mostly because the intros are hilarious, with a weird robot named LISA and if I ever get featured I might just greet him by the name of the person who's playing him, because that's what I do.

So yea.

Rating: 5 stars

Becoming Mother Nature

Sooo, I don't like this one AS much, it's just not my thing, y'know? But I think it could be good for others.

Rating: 3 stars

The Mayan Crystal

I love this one! It's a little intense, but y'know that's mythology! Yea, kinda cute little mythology show, I love mythology. I used to hate mythology cuz I thought it would be bad for my faith or something. But now I love it, and it's just like fantasy, it doesn't distract from my faith at all! So ya. This one's cool, and I like intense.

Rating: 5 stars

The unexplainable disappearance of Mars Patel

This one's alright, it's not the best, I'm not the best, I don't tend to like this kind of mystery. Especially when there's someone named Oliver Prewitt involved (Not gonna spoil it, but I think he's a maniac and I hate him) so ya. But it was a nice listen, for a while until it just became your classic mystery fiction, y'know?

Rating: 4 stars

Letters From Camp

I hate this one! And here's why:

So first I'd like to say, it has potential. A lot. But I'm also going to say it's a lot of wasted potential.

I listened about half way through to the fourth episode, and by about halfway through, that's more than half of season 1, so you'd think they'd have gotten to the point by then, right? Well, wrong. I mean, we know what's going on what Mookie is trying to solve, but she hasn't solved it yet or even like started looked into it. It's just her complaining about her summer camp, which, for the record, I cannot blame her for. And so begins my rant.

Everybody there, including the adults, are extremely toxic. It's apparently supposed to be a place everyone can get along or something, but, no! Just no! Mookie's cabinmates and even her cabin counselor are making no effort at all to make her feel included, and there are a few mean comments directed towards her from others, and rumors spread about her. Even the camp director, instead of making an effort to help Mookie feel welcome as herself, she (In what I can only say is the nicest way possible, but still kinda rude) shoots Mookie's talents down just so the latter can be popular, telling her to "Be normal" and there's even this one scene where this director is pressuring Mookie to be in the talent show and then when she suggests things she feels comfortable doing, Miss Director Sue Person shoots her down and forces her into the group with her cabinmates despite the latter not being at all comfortable with it. Not to mention all the teen body topics, as well as political talk, and the above mentioned serious negative role models are horrible for kids. I mean I know it's supposed to just be simulating a tween just living through regular life struggles, but the producers took it way too far. It's downright disturbing to me that a summer camp like this exists anywhere especially in a podcast in a network with all these awesome shows (Some of them geared towards younger kids)

Whew! Thanks for enduring my rant! Oh and one more thing, I put the link to apple podcasts just to stay consistent, but you need the Wondery Kids+ subscription to listen there, so I listened to it on Audible where it was free, and I'd recommend you do that too if you don't wanna pay for the subscription.

Rating: 1 star

Six Minutes

Oooh! Can't forget Six Minutes!

Six Minutes is the best! That's all I have to say!! Also, I have no idea why it's called "Six Minutes" but that's ok. As long as it doesn't detract from the actual story, which it doesn't so woohoo for Six Minutes!

Rating: 5 stars!!!

Remy's Life Interrupted

Still wondering if this podcast is, like, real, like actually-happened (Probably not).

I'm going to start out by saying that this thing has potential. Nope, this is not another hugungus rant. It's just, it's fine...but in my character Remy (And some of the other characters too) are kind of basic, which makes it hard to enjoy.

Rating: 4 stars

Melon's House Party

Well, this one has potential!

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry I keep saying that, but it's what I think. Sorry, anyway, the problem with this is that it's not very relatible. The first episode something new for the house, is relatible. The rest of them are not. Except for like the occasional one. You get what I mean? Like something that is plausible, most of these are random fantasy that just happens to take place in a dog's perspective. I mean, I know this is probably one of those ones meant for little kids, but it would be much better if there were a few more real plausible things going on.

Rating: 3 stars

The Alien Adventures of Finn Caspien

This one used to be good. Again, y'know, science fiction with a twst, but still something you can imagine as science fiction. But then they introduce all this magic and whatnot and it went out of control. I mean, no offense, but if you can't think of anything that fits the plot, then don't just do your random, wacky ideas. Thank you.

Rating: 3 stars

Ok, that's it for me today! I'm probably gonna do another post where I rate other family podcasts that are not from Wondery+ and something where I just list my favorite podcasts. Also thank you for bearing with me on my ranting.

Do you people know any of these? What do you think of them?

Alright, until next time, this is Miss Gevious, signing off!
